Amongst music lovers and
glamazons takes place a new edition of the Friday Nights music program at the
NGV, this time on the occasion of the Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibition.
Exquisite selection of artists,
most of them outside the typical Australian mainstream, that together with the
collections of the French fashion designer and a smaller exhibition with
artworks from renowned British artist David Shrigley, makes the whole vibe at
the NGV quite cosmopolitan,.
Frikstailers’ performance
exceeded by far any expectations the audience may have had. Sampling its music
with absurd devices, such as mock-up guitars, Nintendo controllers and a Wii
Fit mat on the floor, the duo from Argentina brought the best of the
‘Cumbia’ dance –and some ‘Reggaeton’ tunes- to the Melbourne nightlife.
Way too much fun. Shame they were
only in town for one night...
Thanks for reading.
