Falls Festival - Day 3

- - -

!!! (CHK CHK CHK)

Formed in Sacramento, California  in 1996, this dance-punk band had the crowd at their finger tips…literally. Lead singer Nic Offer leaping off the stage to join the crowd in a brave attempt of crowd surfing. Energy levels were high and the dance moves did not disappoint with one of the stand-out performances of the festival.

THE WOMBATS

The Wombats were comfortable and cool on stage. The Liverpudlians seemed to have grown up as a band and were one of the highlights on the day with epic ‘sing-alongs' by an excited crowd. Matthew Murphy, told the crowd they hadn’t played a gig in 3 months so they were really feeling this show that ended on an impromptu instrumental, heavy metal inspired sound that left the crowd wanting to hear more. Definitely a good addition to the festival line up.

WHITE DENIM

White Denim is a four-piece rock band from Austin, Texas whose music style has been described as punk-infused, psychedelic blues-rock. The band played an intense set with unusual music loop work. They were having a good time on stage and the crowd was enjoying their unique sound. I can still hear the bass riffs in my head...

THE WAR ON DRUGS

US four-piece The War on Drugs – were debutants at this year's Falls Festival and did not disappoint a packed crowd. Formed in 2005, the talented Philadelphian artist inspires comparisons to Dylan and Springsteen with similar vocal and instrumental arrangements.

HANNI EL KHATIB

Super cool, El Khatib grew up in San Francisco, and developed a musical style that has been described as fiery garage soul. The most popular song, “You Rascal You” sums up his style. Perfect laid back listening when the sun came out at Falls and the crowd was enjoying the performance.
