Mia Dyson is a famous Australian songwriter and
guitarist from Torquay. She composes beautiful songs with a deep toned voice
and scratchy chords roughly played on her electric guitar, with a characteristic
style that may remind some grunge blues band, only toned down a few notches.
On the bass, Tim Keegan was great. I am a bit
fan of his previous work with Liz Stringer –on steel guitar during the show-,
Matt Keegan and the Tiger and me. Humble and quiet bass notes until it
needs to be heard. Nothing too techie, nothing too fancy, just a clean nice ‘jazzy’
Fender sound that builds up without taking over. Danny McKenna on drums to complete the set and
a couple of teenage girls doing a ‘solo cameo’ at the end of the show.
Quite a nice venue, such a nice show, just
before she goes on tour to the US.
