Some of the best music shows I have been
over the last year, in no specific order. Just click in the band name to check their
music on their MySpace and get the feel of what´s going on (fancy!).
Let´s get started, 3, 2 ,1… L-I-P - Best of
last year´s - Part I
The Flaming Lips. One of my favourites
shows last year. It is just amazing seeing Wayne Coyne crowdsurfing in a bubble .
Beirut, the gypsy indie folk sound from New
york. As their “bio” states: a trumpet
from Paris, farfisa organ, accordion, piano, ukelele, mandolin, glockenspiel,
violin, cello, tambourine, the air powered organ I bought on twelfth street and
a Congo drum donated from the neighbours...
Battles, just an amazing performance that I
could watch again and again. If you want to listen further, you should check this
video of his take-away show in Wall Street.
Le Butcherettes: Mexican garage punk from
Guadalajara, opening for Omar Rodriguez Lopez. They were literally climbing up
the stage curtain at the East Brunswick Club.
Lou Barlow, from Dinosaur Jr. Pretty
intimate show where he showed us his funny side and gave us a little bit too
much information while he was sipping scotch.
Girl Talk – That is just a -insane- P-A-R-T-Y. I am
not too sure why he hasn´t been sued for copyright infringement yet, neither the NY Times magazine does.
Aphex Twin. Just come to daddy, would ya?
Also, for nostalgics, check this video.
